Jim Gremling is an Assistant Instructor at Columbus Tang Soo Do Academy. He began training in 2008, under the instruction of Mr. Thomas Marker and Ms. Kelly Burke, soon after CTSDA began offering training at the Licking County Family YMCA's Western Branch in Pataskala, Ohio. He earned the Degree of Cho Dan (First Degree Black Belt) in 2013, during the World Tang Soo Do Association's Region 22 Spring Dan Test, and he has been a certified instructor with the World Tang Soo Do Association since 2015.

Mr. Gremling is currently pursuing his E Dan (Second Degree Black Belt,) and he hopes to test for this next rank with many of his fellow Cho Dan students at the Region 22 Spring Dan Test in 2016. His areas of interest include self-defense, form applications, and technique modifications for varying physical abilities. He has volunteered as a judge and scorekeeper at recent regional and international World Tang Soo Do Association events.

He graduated from The Ohio State University during the previous century (MS, Engineering, 1996; BS, Electrical Engineering, 1994,) and he is currently employed with Alcatel-Lucent as a Small Cells Delivery Readiness engineer. In addition, he is actively involved with St. Edward The Confessor Catholic Church in Granville, Ohio, and he also enjoys various culinary projects.
