Allison Shardell began her training in 2010 at Columbus Tang Soo Do Academy under the instruction of Mr. Tom Marker and Ms. Kelly Burke. In 2014, Dr. Shardell was awarded her 1st degree black belt.

As a mother of four children, Dr. Shardell began assisting in the youth classes that her children were participating in. She currently assists with both the youth and adult classes, as well as the youth weapons class. Dr. Shardell’s areas of interest include dexterity and form drills using the staff.

She was awarded her doctorate in counseling with a research focus on autism and developmental disorders in 2014 and currently works as a religious education director, special needs coordinator, and American Sign Language (ASL) choir director at a local church, and is the executive director and lead ASL instructor for a non-profit organization for deaf and special needs children.
