All Columbus Tang Soo Do Academy classes are directly supervised by instructors who have been certified by the World Tang Soo Do Association. Under this program, instructors are trained via mentoring not only in the correct execution of physical techniques, but also in classroom management strategies, explaining martial arts to students of differing ages, and to students with different learning styles. This program requires a minimum of 100 training hours before receiving certification.
At times, senior students will be given minor teaching and leadership responsibilities in class to prepare them for greater roles in the future. These students, whether leading warm-up exercises or teaching new techniques in a one on one situation, are always closely supervised by a certified instructor and given proper feedback to help them improve their leadership abilties as well as mental understanding of Tang Soo Do.
