2010 Western PA Gup Clinic Paperwork Available!!!

Every year the WTSDA schools in the Pittsburg, PA area host a day long gup clinic for any interested WTSDA students. This year the clinic will be held on Saturday, August 28th, and we highly encourage all of our students in the Youth and Adult classes to attend. This is an excellent opportunity to train Tang Soo Do basics, expand your knowledge of martial arts, train with different instructors and masters and make new friends within the Association. The clinic paperwork is available below and must be completed and mailed by August 14th. Students must have their instructor’s signature on the paperwork in order for it to be valid, so make sure you bring it to class to have it signed. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Marker or Ms. Burke. We look forward to seeing you there!

1st Annual Region 22 Championship Paperwork

Beginning on January 1, Columbus Tang Soo Do Academy will be a part of the newly formed Region 22 unit of the World Tang Soo Do Association. We will celebrate this new Region by holding our first Regional Championship tournament on February 27, 2009 in Wingate, Pennsylvania. The paperwork is available online.

All CTSDA students who are registered with the WTSDA will be eligible to participate in this tournament. Please see Mr. Marker or Ms. Burke for information. All applications must be sent in by January 30.

Staff Seminar – 10/17/09

We will be hosting a half-day staff seminar at OSU on 10/17/09. For those students who have practiced staff in the past, this will be an excellent opportunity to practice some of our core material in-depth, and also find new ways to relate our staff training to Tang Soo Do.

Region 5 Championship Paperwork Available!

Every spring a Region 5 studio hosts the Regional Championships with Grandmaster Shin! This year the tournament will be held in Villa Park, Illinois (near Chicago) the weekend of April 17th – 19th. The weekend consists of the regional black belt test Friday night, the tournament Saturday, and on Sunday students can attend a half-day clinic where they will have the opportunity to train with Grandmaster Shin as well as other masters and instructors from Region 5. Paperwork for this event is available here.

The early registration deadline is March 25th, after that the price will increase by $10. The official close of registration is April 1st. Make sure you get your instructors signature before the deadline. If you have any questions, please see either of your instructors.

Central Ohio Clinic Paperwork

Paperwork for the Central Ohio Clinic can be downloaded from this link. There is no need to send in paperwork, as all registration will be handled that morning at the door.

There will be a special, youth-oriented clinic for our kids, with age and rank appropriate activities led by the Master’s and Head Instructors of our Region.

The Central Ohio Clinic is a WTSDA event, hosted by Buckeye Tang Soo Do, and is an outstanding opportunity for students in Columbus to work with Masters and Instructors from our Region without having to take a long road trip. In addition, this year will feature two special guests from the Pittsburgh area: Ms. Julia Harvey and Ms. Linda Russo.

All students are strongly encouraged to attend!

Upcoming Event Paperwork

We have 2 exciting events taking place in February 2009 that all CTSDA students are invited to attend.

The first is the Central Ohio Clinic, which will take place in Columbus, OH on the OSU campus. This event will take place February 7th, and will feature some of the best WTSDA instructors from our Region. Instructors from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan will be onhand to share their Tang Soo Do knowledge.

The second event is a roadtrip: The 2009 Western PA Championships, which will be held just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. This will be a competition open to all ages of students (must be a WTSDA member) and will be an outstanding opportunity to meet Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin! Western PA has a great tradition of Tang Soo Do, and has been extremely supportive of WTSDA efforts in this area for many years. We expect this to be a very high quality event.
